What this website collects, why, who it is shared with, and how long it is kept. It is short because the site does very little.

Splashbacks.com, C27 Rosehill Industrial Estate, Market Drayton, TF9 2JU, is the data controller for personal information collected through this website.
For anything about your data, contact info@splashbacks.com or call 01948 740075.
There are no advertising cookies, no tracking pixels and no profile built about you. Nothing here follows you around other websites.
Three things are stored in your own browser, on your device, and the first two are never sent to us except as part of placing an order:
Your basket — the splashback sizes and options you have priced, kept so they are still there when you come back with a tape measure. It stays until you clear it or clear your browser data.
Your order reference — kept only for the length of a single visit, so that refreshing the checkout page does not create a duplicate order.
Your cookie choice — whether you said yes or no to the measurement cookies below, so we do not keep asking.
Those three are strictly necessary, or are the record of a choice you made, so they are set without asking. None of them contains your name or your card details.
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people use, so we can tell which parts of the shop are confusing. It sets cookies named _ga and _ga_<id> on your device and records things like the pages you viewed, roughly where in the world you are, and what kind of device and browser you used.
Nothing is set until you agree. The Google script is not loaded at all until you choose “Yes, that’s fine” on the banner — so if you say no, or simply ignore it, no analytics cookie is ever created and no request is made to Google. Our legal basis is your consent, under regulation 6 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 and Article 6(1)(a) of the UK GDPR.
You can change your mind at any time, and it is as easy as agreeing was: use the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of any page. Withdrawing consent stops anything further being collected. To remove what is already on your device, clear your browser’s cookies for this site.
Google Analytics is provided by Google Ireland Limited, with processing also taking place in the United States. Google acts as our processor under its data processing terms, and transfers outside the UK are covered by the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses. Google discards the full IP address rather than storing it. We have not enabled Google’s advertising, remarketing or data-sharing features, so your activity here is not used to target advertising at you.
Analytics data is kept for 14 months and then deleted automatically.
If you would rather opt out everywhere, Google publishes a browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
To fulfil an order we collect your name, email address, telephone number and delivery address, together with the specification of the splashbacks you have ordered.
We collect this because it is necessary to perform the contract between us — we cannot cut, deliver or invoice a splashback without it. Where we keep records for accounting, we do so to comply with a legal obligation.
We do not ask for, receive or store your card details at any point. See “Payments” below.
We do not use your details for marketing unless you ask us to, and we do not sell, rent or share your information with anyone for their own marketing.
Card payments are taken by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., on Stripe’s own secure pages. Your card number is entered on Stripe’s systems and never reaches this website or our servers.
We pass Stripe the amount, the order reference and your email address so that it can send you a receipt and so that we can match the payment to your order. Stripe is an independent controller for the payment itself and processes your data under its own privacy policy.
Our delivery partners, who receive your name, address and telephone number in order to deliver the goods.
Springfield Studios, who build and host this website for us and act as our processor under a written agreement. They do not use your data for their own purposes.
Our accountant and HMRC, for invoicing, VAT and statutory record keeping.
Google, but only if you agreed to the measurement cookies — see “Measuring how the site is used” above. If you did not, nothing about your visit reaches Google at all.
Law enforcement or other authorities, where we are legally required to disclose information.
Nobody else. We do not sell or disclose personal information to third parties for their own purposes.
This website and its order records are hosted on servers in Germany, within the European Economic Area.
Stripe may process payment data outside the UK and EEA. Where it does, it relies on safeguards approved under UK data protection law, such as standard contractual clauses.
If you agreed to the measurement cookies, Google Analytics data is processed by Google Ireland Limited and in the United States, under the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses. If you did not agree, no such transfer takes place.
Order and invoice records are kept for six years after the end of the financial year to which they relate, which is the period HMRC requires for tax records.
Enquiries that do not become orders are kept for up to 12 months and then deleted.
Orders that are started but never paid for are removed after a short period.
You have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you; to have inaccurate data corrected; to ask us to delete it or restrict how we use it; and to object to our using it. Where we rely on performing a contract, you can also ask for a copy of the data you gave us in a portable form.
These rights are not absolute — we may need to keep accounting records even if you ask us to delete them.
To exercise any of them, email info@splashbacks.com. We will respond within one month, and we may ask you to confirm who you are first.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right.
If this policy changes we will update this page and the date shown at the top of it.
We would like to use Google Analytics to see which pages people use, so we can make the shop easier to use. It sets cookies on your device. Nothing is set unless you say yes, and you can change your mind at any time. How we handle your data.
